1Assuming its already painted, to give it another coat from a ladder, that’s a dangerous day’s work for 1 man, including the paint.

2From scaffolding……Burn off, sand and fill, apply acrylic primer, undercoat coat and gloss. This will take 1 man 1 day

“Labour” at £175 a day (tradesman) £100 (labourer), includes incidental fixings etc. and tipping charges. “Materials” if mentioned, are larger things (a boiler) and stuff only you can choose (tiles etc).  Also VAT must be added all round.

Now let’s get this right, by gable/verge/barge boards we mean the woodwork which sometimes forms the edge of a gable end roof and looks like a very large arrow pointing skyward. All on the same page are we? Good!

If it’s just a quick “tosh” you want to spruce the place up a bit, then you might find a bloke who has nothing to live for who will do it from a ladder.
If you want it prepared and two coated, he might remember he has a wife and kids and get all soft on you and want it scaffolded first!
