Job
Description
Labour
1To remove an eaves or gable chimney and roof the hole over, will take…2 men 2 days. (If it’s Victorian he will be keeping the bricks, they are about a quid each second hand)! If you are dumping the bricks, a small skip can cost … £150.00
£550

Plus materials & scaffolding for an eaves or gable chimney
£475
2 To return when the scaffolding has gone and replace any broken tiles/slates.
 £50
“Labour” at £175 a day (tradesman) £100 (labourer), includes incidental fixings etc. and tipping charges. “Materials” if mentioned, are larger things (a boiler) and stuff only you can choose (tiles etc).  Also VAT must be added all round.
Our prices assume…There are no conservatories, or other impediments to scaffolding erection. That all chimneys are average size (whatever that is) with no
aerial.

Information on chimney stack removal

What a great job for the “British Working Man”. No complications unless he forgets to temporarily block up any hearths. Then the brown stuff (in this case soot, debris and possibly the odd brick) will really hit the fan!
The real expertise is re-roofing over the hole he leaves. Ideally, he will use matching
slates or tiles and you’ll never know you had a chimney…Good luck with that one!
